FRIDAY NIGHT – ROARING-TWENTIES PARTY!

Launching the 90th Birthday of the Coronado Theatre to be celebrated year-long. The Coronado Theatre opened in 1927 at the height of the roaring-twenties era.

Friday, September 29th, The Roaring 20’s Party will begin at 7:00 pm with a Block Party and celebration in every square inch of the Coronado Theatre.

  • LIVE LOCAL MUSIC: Bands and Entertainment will be staggered throughout the Coronado Theatre lobby spaces and mezzanine to guide guests throughout the theatre.
    • Lobby – Screw City Swingers: Swing Acoustic Jazz | 7:30-8:30 pm & 9:30-10:30 pm
    • Lower Mezzanine – Lone Canary: Indie Folk | 8:15-9:00 pm
    • Mezzanine – Tentacles Everywhere: Psychedelic Folk | 9:00-9:45 pm
    • Main Stage – Three Good Men: Eclectic Acoustic Rock | 7:30-8:30 pm & 9:30-10:30 pm
  • THEATER TOURS: FREE tours (and Ghost Stories if asked) provided by the Land of Lincoln Theatre Organ Society throughout the public theater spaces.
  • FOOD TRUCKS: (Your local favorites annouced soon!)
  • REFRESHMENTS AND CHEAP DRINK SPECIALS: More info to be updated on our Facebook page!
    CULTURE SHOCK VINYL DJ: Playing vinyl records of all artists who have performed at the Coronado Theatre throughout history.
  • COSTUME CONTEST: There will be a contest for the best Roaring-Twenties Themed Outfit! Get your flapper dresses and gold pocket squares ready. This night will be glamourous. *Costumes not required to attend, come as you are!
  • RAFFLE & 50/50: Guests who purchase raffle tickets could win a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Must be present to win.
  • SHORT FILM DEBUT: At the end of the night guests will pile into the theater for the grand debut! A look at the theater through 90 years as the Friends of the Coronado Foundation and the Land of Lincoln Theater Organ Society debut their short film, “History of the Coronado” created from their historical archives.

Saturday, September 30th, the free-of-charge FAMILY party continues indoors and outdoors on Main Street from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

  • LOLTOS TOURS: Tours will continue throughout the theater brought to you by the Land of Lincoln Theatre Organ Society. 12:00-4:00 pm
  • ARHIVE DISPLAYS: 12:00-4:00 pm
  • SILENT MOVIE TIMES: 12:00 pm | 1:00 pm | 3:00 pm
  • ORGAN CONCERTS: (20 min) – 12:30 pm | 1:30 pm | 2:30 pm | 3:30 pm
  • FACE PAINTER: Quisha Curtis (Crazy Q) with professional grade face painting to impress your little ones! 1:00-3:00 pm.
  • AWARD WINNING DISCOVERY CENTER MUSEUM: The museum will be set up with activity for the kids and adults to enjoy free of charge. 12:00-4:00 pm
  • LIVE UP-CLOSE MAGICIAN: Johnny Silver will provide up-close magic and amaze people of all ages, not just the kids! He’s one of a kind. 12:30-1:30 pm
  • INSTRAMENT PETTING ZOO: 1:00-3:00 pm
  • ADMISSION: FREE
